2005 - St George's (Leeds)

2006 - Camb Methodists (Leeds)

The aim of the National Christian Cricket Cup, started in 2000, is to provide an opportunity for the Church or Christian organisation represented to receive local media coverage and to develop new and existing friendships by playing a social, but also competitive, game of cricket.

It is sincerely hoped that teams will embrace the ‘outreach' challenge that this competition provides, demonstrating and sharing their faith to those who are not yet Christians.

COMPETITION RULES & DETAILS

Format
Entrants will be split into Northern and Southern Leagues, with the winners of each reaching the final.

Competition
35-over matches of one innings.

Matches
The number of churches entering will determine the number of matches for each team. Each team will play at least 2 games.

Age
Minimum age for players is 14 years on 01.04.06.

Costs
All costs for each match, including travel, teas and pitch hire, are to be shared evenly between the two teams. Each team pays a one-off competition entry fee of £10.00.

Publicity
It is hoped that all entrants will issue media releases for games to their local newspapers and to send copies of coverage to the organisers.

The Team
The team must represent a church or Christian organisation.

Results
A copy of the scorecard must be posted or emailed to the organisers within 2 days of the match taking place.

The Final
The final will be played in St Albans on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28th. Scorers, umpires, trophies and tea will be provided and the cost for this will be confirmed nearer the time.

Disputes
It is hoped that this competition will be played in a spirit of friendship and that there will not be any disputes at all! However, if disputes do arise, the organisers' decision will be final and binding on all parties. Entering the cup shows acceptance of this rule.
