CONGRATULATIONS TO CAMBRIDGE METHODISTS!
Barton Evangelical Church Cricket Team (Canterbury, Kent) met Cambridge Methodists Cricket Team (Leeds) for the coveted title of NCCC 2006 winners in a 35-over match on Bank Holiday Monday 28 August, at OA Sport in St Albans. |

Organisers needed for 2007!
Please contact us if you would be willing to take over - it would be a great shame if the competition was to fold, especially as there are more teams out there who want to join in. Many thanks to all those who have helped us over the last two years; it has been greatly appreciated. Contact Chris Crow or Richard Langley (email addresses at bottom of page). |

The final was played with excellent spirit and enthusiasm, which remained undampened by the two or three outbreaks of rain during the game.
Barton won the toss & decided to field first. Cambridge Methodists scored 128 in their 35 overs (Rakesh Nunna top scored with 25; Richard Smith 3 for 10) while Barton scored 109 off 33.3 overs (Tim Saunders top-scored with 29; Andi Noble 3 for 23, Rakesh Hunna 2 for 12).
Cambridge Methodists eventually ran out the winners by 19 runs, but the outcome was in doubt right to the end. Runs were difficult to come by, due mainly to superb bowling and fielding by both sides.
Man of the Match went to Rakesh Nunna for his all-round batting, bowling and fielding display.

Tournament organisers Holy Trinity Ripon would like to thank both captains and their teams for the exemplary way in which the game was played. Thanks must also go to Old Albanians for the use of their fantastic facilities and their heroic efforts to provide us with a pitch and square worthy of the final. Do check out their website to see the facilities for yourself. Lastly, a big thank you to the scorers, provided by Holy Trinity Ripon Cricket Club (as were the umpires). Kate, David and Rebecca did a great job - they even had to control an electronic scoreboard!
