My hopes for the future at HTR

I love seeing people grow and thrive as they discover the freedom and life that God has for us in Jesus. I am excited about being at Holy Trinity. It is a church with much to share and which is keen to grow… and that's surely what following Christ is all about.

Holy Trinity is a church which is expanding in numbers and, hopefully, growing in its ability to disciple its members and meet the needs of the community around us. We are not there yet: we are devoting ourselves to seeking the Lord's way forward, and we will be working into the autumn to agree our aims and priorities for the next few years.

As for me, I dream that we will increasingly be a church where all are welcome, where people come simply and leave full of peace and refreshed with joy.

I
dream of a community solidly grounded in God's word and godly training, constantly refreshed by meeting God in power.

I dream that what we do together is only the foundation of what we see God doing in our homes, our schools, our work and our community. I dream that what God does here has effects that roll out beyond our horizons or imagination.

I dream that we might release a generation of leaders who are not satisfied with the way the world or the church is and who bang on the door of Heaven until He brings His kingdom of life and fulfilment.

I dream that our building might be a place of meeting and community, a space full of laughter and conversation, a holy peaceful place where the weary can weep and all can find comfort.

I dream that we can be a resource serving others and discovering that together we have so much more. I dream of lives transformed and people healed, of worship that lifts us to heaven and service that takes others with us, of visions and wisdom, reconciliation and healing, hope and freedom, peace and joy.

I dream big dreams, for we have a big God.

You are welcome to join us in this adventure!

Mark
