Structure
The Sunday sessions usually involve 15 minutes' social time to catch up with the week's news (we would never call it gossip...), followed by an hour of bible study & discussion. The topics vary - from a study of a gospel to discussions on the morality of war, our responsibility for the developing world and the effects of money and power on the modern society. The evening finishes off with half an hour of social time and ends at 9.30pm.
Fun stuff!
CYFA also organises weekends away - usually to a centre in the Yorkshire Dales, with activities such as walking, football, rounders and a themed bible study. We also have regular socials, such as pizza and film evenings, visits to the cinema and also a Christmas party. Some of the CYFA members enjoy working on the church's sound desk. |

Overseas mission
CYFA has just been on our first overseas mission to Malawi. Seven young people, two leaders and the vicar worked hard to raise funds to go out to a mission hospital in Blantyre (part of our overseas tithe). CYFA helped to put the finishing touches to the houses and gardens of the new development. They also had a chance to visit the hospital, interact with the children there, and travel around the country (including a safari!). The opportunity to worship and share fellowship with Christians on the other side of the world was very rewarding. See pictures...
