Holy Trinity Ripon stands at a crossroads about a quarter of a mile from the city's square. The new entrance to The Arches, the former crypt, is at the east end of the church, below the stained glass windows. |

|
Until 2002, Holy Trinity's interior was very traditional, including wooden pews and a wonderful old organ. However, the organ was beyond economic repair; the pews were uncomfortable and inflexible, and the heating system had simply passed away. So the Space Project began: an ambitious £1.1m vision for a warmer, more contemporary and more welcoming space - not only for congregation members, but also for Ripon's community. |

UPSTAIRS
Now that the church interior has been restored, the beautiful Georgian building is once again a comfortable and welcoming place of worship. The church is also ideally suited for concerts and dramatic productions.

OUTSIDE
An additional new entrance close to the street now offers ramp access, and lets light flood into what used to be the crypt, but is now a space much used by the church and the community.

DOWNSTAIRS
As you come into The Arches (formerly the crypt) from the street, you enter a bright lobby and then the reception area, shown right. A serving hatch through to the kitchen makes this a convenient place to hold receptions and coffee breaks - as well as the church's own community lunch, every Thursday.

KITCHEN
A key feature of our superb refurbishment programme is the kitchen - packed with industrial-grade equipment including dishwashers, microwaves, catering ovens, and coffee makers. Serving hatches give onto the reception area and the largest meeting room.
