The power of flowers

7 October 2006

Dear Holy Trinity;

Here's a photo of our wonderful, magnicifent, totally overwhelming,  toy library vehicle. It has only 25,000 kms on the clock and was modified  for the Chaco to a high standard by its only owner. This means it has a tow bar, a winch and a dust extracting pipe from the engine.

We were just closing negotiations with another seller when our driver, Esteban, saw this one in the paper. The mechanic who was looking over our possible choices said this vehicle was a clear winner.

At the same time as the vehicle was being handed over to us, I was interviewing two Indian pastors about educational provision in their community, 400 kms from Asunción and way off the beaten track.
They have no running water or electricity and school provision is pitiful. Most Indians have only 1.6 years of schooling on average and illiteracy is very high.

We hope to be able to start a community programme involving some of the Indian women for preschool. Without this vehicle we couldn´t even contemplate visiting them. When the Lord calls, He provides.

Thank you so very much for your generous giving over the May flower festival. We hope and pray that new intiatives also come about for you as a result.

Saludos y bendiciones del Paraguay!
